“Outer beauty attracts, but inner beauty captivates.”
― Kate Angell
This bird is the perfect example of the above saying. People who have seen this bird will be able to relate, for those who are unacquainted, I’ll guide you through.
This bird when perched on a tree or lamp post looks pretty ordinary, with normal brown feathers. No one would even pay attention to it.
That’s where Wildlife photographers come in. Though I am no where near a professional photographer, but my ultimate goal is to be one. They keep their eyes open to the slightest of movement nearby them. Anyways, I was going past the cricket ground of my college and there I saw this bird sitting on a lamp post. I was amused to spot this bird in my campus. I took out my camera and immediately started clicking it.
I had never seen such a beautiful bird, but wait, there’s more to it, it took off and flew. And I was just standing there, jaw dropped. I had never ever in my life seen such a calm, extraordinary shade of blue. The brilliance of the color and beauty of the Indian Roller is captivating in every way.
The Indian Roller acquires its name from the striking aerobatics it displays as an act of courtship. During the course of the display the bird flies high up in the sky and descends downwards in a circular motion, flapping its winds rapidly.
For all my Hindu friends, you’ll be amazed to know this is a sacred bird and is associated with Lord Shiva.
All in all, I learned that “good things come to those who wait”.
One should never ignore anyone just because of their physical appearance, you never know what they turn out to be. Inner beauty should be given utmost importance.
“Solitude is where one discovers one is not alone.”
― Marty Rubin
When was the last time you were all alone and thought about your life?
In these days of ultra – connectedness and the continuous need of being socially active 24×7, has made solitude a lost art.
I am no loner, I love to talk to my friends, have a good dinner with my family. But, there comes a time when you really need to introspect your thoughts and refine them.
Art in it’s best form is created when one is in solitude. In deep thoughts, of beauty. One can find answers to their long awaited questions. Great philosophers took long walks alone and that is when they came up with their best of theories.
My best photography, and in fact the best of anything I’ve ever done, was when I was in solitude.
It is the time to reflect on what we’ve done and learn from it. To find your inner voice and not being influenced by any other person, be it your family members or your peer group. And once you start listening to this inner voice, you’ll find peace in everything you do.
Constructive Solitude, in these days as much as ever, is an absolute necessity.

“The more we deny that we have a dark side, the more power it has over us.”
– Sheryl Lee
What’s the first thing that strikes your mind when you hear somebody talking about “The Dark Side“?
The atrocious side of every human being, but is it really that ugly?
It maybe ugly but in my opinion, one must explore their dark side and learn from it. Everybody has a dark side and it’s the failure to face the truth of this that keeps many from moving forward.
Everyone does something that seems really wrong from time to time, but that doesn’t necessarily make them a bad person. Evil will always exist in the world, and sometimes that’s a good thing. It’s good to be bad sometimes. Vigilante justice is a part of our culture these days. You can always look up to “The Dark Knight” or “Dexter” for that matter.
Everything has both Yin and Yang, for instance shadow cannot exist without light. These forces interact to form a whole greater and dynamic system. So basically, these seemingly opposing forces, are interconnected and interdependent in the natural world. They give rise to each another.

“If you want to be reminded of the love of the Lord, just watch the sunrise.”
― Jeannette Walls
Well, I am a pretty lazy fellow. And getting up in the morning, just for the sake of running, is not a perfect way for me to spend them. Then too, my friends forced me to come and join them, they called me up continuously, until I got up. Grumbling tiredly like a troll awakened from a deep sleep, I climbed out of my bed. Looking around at the window, a sense of gloom permeates me as I realize that it isn’t even light yet. But my sole purpose was to capture the sunrise. So, I get dressed, keeping aside all these thoughts.
When I reached the nearby park, I see my friends and automatically I have a wide smile on my face. Something good happened after all. I was now excited to capture life around me and the sunrise, when I stumbled across this huge dead tree, with some crows sitting on the top, as if they were discussing their plans for the day. With the sunrise in the backdrop, I was mesmerized by this radiant sight.
That time, I felt how sunrise was a sign of hope. I heard it from people, but never really thought about it. A new day of life starts with it. When a man’s failures and circumstances are killing him, a hope rises. I was just sitting there, thinking about my life, how to re – assemble it, thanking god for such a statuesque view, and clicking photographs.
In life, there are many things that we have to learn to let go. We have to let go of situations, things, memories, people and even ourselves.
It’s easy to form an attachment to people and things. When you’ve formed an attachment to people and things, it can be a very painful experience and feeling when you realized that it’s time to let go. Even the mere thought of not having that person or thing in your life just squeezes your heart in pain.
However, there are times where you or that person has changed to the extent that it’s necessary to let go of the relationship or friendship, so that each of you can fulfill your life path.
Letting go of your past and memories are also extremely hard. Even though old memories can be tormenting, yet you might hold on to the past and refuse to move forward. However, by refusing to let go of the painful past, it’ll serve as a roadblock to love.
Letting go of your old self and the process of letting the new you emerge can be one of the scariest experiences in your life. But by leaving behind your old self and taking a leap of faith into the unknown, it might just reveal what you are truly capable of becoming.
“Power, wrongly used, defeats the oppressor as well as the oppressed.”
― Wally Lamb
Bee portrays the Common Man. Just as the bee, who works hard, flower to flower, just to end up giving all that it collected to it’s queen bee, in the same way, we pay income taxes to our corrupt government. The amount of hard work a common man put in, is not being respected by the fellow government. They are misusing the tax collections and everyday there’s a new scam. And to add to the misery, it is not working up to our expectations. The need of the hour is CHANGE. And as Mahatma Gandhi said, ““Be the change you wish to see in the world.”
